Celebrating Prof. Wil van der Aalst's 60th Birthday(Wil van der Aalst 교수 60주년 기념 심포지엄 참석)
Prof. Minseok Song of the Analytics & Information Management (AIM) Lab at POSTECH joined researchers and collaborators from around the world in Aachen, Germany, to celebrate the 60th birthday of Prof. Wil van der Aalst, a pioneer of process mining.
The symposium brought together members of the international process mining and business process management communities, including more than 40 of Prof. van der Aalst's former Ph.D. students. Participants gathered at the historic Aachen City Hall to celebrate his academic career and contributions to the development of process mining.
The occasion also marked the publication of the Festschrift Mining a Scientist's Process: Essays Dedicated to Wil van der Aalst on the Occasion of His 60th Birthday, published by Springer. Prof. Song, together with Prof. Jae-Yoon Jung, contributed the chapter “Process Mining in the Era of Smart Manufacturing: Applications, Limitations, and Opportunities,” exploring the applications and future potential of process mining in smart manufacturing.
The event was a meaningful opportunity to reconnect with long-standing collaborators and colleagues and to celebrate the continued growth of the global process mining community.

POSTECH AIM Lab의 송민석 교수가 독일 아헨에서 열린 프로세스 마이닝의 창시자 Wil van der Aalst 교수의 60주년 기념 심포지엄에 참석하여, 전 세계에서 모인 연구자·협력자들과 함께 자리를 빛냈습니다.

이 자리에서는 Springer가 발간한 기념 논문집 『Mining a Scientist's Process: Essays Dedicated to Wil van der Aalst on the Occasion of His 60th Birthday』의 출간도 함께 기념하였습니다. 송민석 교수는 정재윤 교수와 함께 「Process Mining in the Era of Smart Manufacturing: Applications, Limitations, and Opportunities」 장을 집필하여, 스마트 제조 분야에서 프로세스 마이닝의 응용과 향후 가능성을 다루었습니다.
오랜 기간 함께해 온 협력자·동료들과 다시 만나고, 세계 프로세스 마이닝 커뮤니티의 성장을 함께 확인한 뜻깊은 자리였습니다.
